2017 Scholarship Solicitation

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is again offering scholarships available to students who are obtaining their undergraduate or graduate degrees and are studying energy-related engineering or energy-related management. During the last 8 years, 44 students in North Carolina have been awarded scholarships. Scholarships are $1,000 with limited scholarships of $2,000 available. This year we can submit 6 applications in total, so we look forward to again having multiple North Carolina winners! In addition to this posting, an email has been sent to many of the faculty at North Carolina institutions already. However, if you have family in college or know of students who would be good candidates, please pass this information along to them.

The local AEE chapter, NCAEE based in Raleigh, is assisting the national AEE organization with applications.  AEE has a foundation (AEE Foundation) which manages the scholarships. Applications are being received now through Friday, April 28th, at which point the chapter will nominate students to AEE by May 1st. AEE Foundation is who actually awards the scholarships; the chapters assist in soliciting for the scholarships, provide some initial screening of candidates and assist students in the application process.

For step-by-step instructions for students to apply for the AEE scholarships, please see http://www.aeecenter.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3304, which is summarized below. Scholarship applications typically take less than 30 minutes!
