Who we are
The North Carolina Association of Energy Engineers (NCAEE), is the local chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE). Based in Raleigh, NC, NCAEE serves energy engineers, facility managers and energy & sustainability managers from Greensboro, NC to the coast. Our national organization, AEE, is comprised of over 17,000 professionals in 97 countries and its widely recognized for its energy certification programs. As a local chapter, we are comprised of 620 members (as of Fall 2015).
NCAEE has a board and several committees that run day-to-day operations and yearly goals, such as scholarships, awards and outreach. For a list of our current board members, visit our board page.
NCAEE is governed by its chapter bylaws, which can be found here.
The Association of Energy Engineers is your source for info and networking in the dynamic fields of energy engineering, energy management, renewables, power generation, energy services, sustainability, and related areas. The mission of AEE is “to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for Sustainable Development.” Locally, we accomplish this by holding meetings to educate our members, award scholarships to outstanding students and have tours to highlight local companies and universities with outstanding facilities.
NCAEE is one of the oldest and largest chapters in the history of AEE. In fact, one of our founding members, Walt Johnson, had an AEE national member number of 3! Founded more than 20 years ago, NCAEE was one of the first ever chapters in AEE history. For more information regarding the long-standing history of our chapter, visit our history page (coming soon!).
