North Carolina Advanced Energy Corporation (Advanced Energy) is seeking engineering candidates who are passionate about quality and ensuring the safety and reliability of distributed energy resources connected to the utility grid.

Position Overview

An ideal candidate will have an engineering background and knowledge of power and electricity systems. It is desirable to possess or willingness to acquire:

  • Knowledge of design, construction, and commissioning of distributed energy facilities including utility scale PV, medium voltage distribution construction, electrical transmission and/or distribution systems, energy storage systems, and/or National Electrical Code
  • Experience performing engineering analysis, design documentation review, and/or field testing for electrical systems
  • Ability to perform field evaluations to assess aspects of the quality of design, construction, and operation; ability to conduct field tests of electrical equipment
  • Experience presenting concise results to customers through reports that delineate observations, results, and recommendations for further action

Requirements

Candidates seeking a senior level position must have at least seven years of experience and advanced knowledge; it is also preferred to have a PE and/or other certifications relevant to job duties.

The job requires team members to spend part of their time visiting utility scale distributed energy resource facilities in North Carolina and South Carolina. Daytime travel typically 1-3 days a week, overnight travel only sometimes necessary. The rest of the time is balanced between the main office and/or working remotely at a home office.

Employment Type: This is an exempt full-time position. There may be occasions where the hours of work may vary, be irregular, and be reasonably required to meet the goals of the organization.
