Learn what to look for on your energy and water bills, and where to find savings opportunities. Case studies of actual savings uncovered with Duke, Duke Progress, Dominion, and Municipal utility bills. This presentation was given at the 2015 WEEC (World Energy Engineering Congress) as Utility Bills 101, and has been revised and updated to focus on NC utilities. If you have a specific question about a utility bill, bring it with you! Pizza and drinks will be provided at no cost to attendees. We look forward to seeing you there!

Kathleen Stahl, PE, CEM, LC, is with the NC Utility Savings Initiative program to save energy and water in public buildings, including universities, community colleges, schools, counties and cities. She has over 18 years experience in energy management for government, commercial and industrial facilities, including electric utility demand-side management & energy efficiency programs, and fossil and hydro power generation. As a corporate electric energy manager Kat worked with over 300 sites in 28 states and over 100 utility companies including deregulated markets, finding over $800K savings in 18 months.

Best parking is in the Oval Drive West Parking Deck at 914 Partners Way, Raleigh, NC 27695 Use GPS to parking deck at 914 Partners Way and/or use these directions to get to the room after you park.

  • From Western Blvd turn onto Avent Ferry Rd.
  • Turn left on Varsity Dr. & go to end of road (T-intersection)
  • Turn right on Partners Way and go to Oval West parking deck (First Parking Deck on Right)
  • Park in the Oval West parking deck on the right
  • Walk across the street
  • Walk on sidewalk between Engineering Building 1 (EB1) and grass field
  • Come up the main walkway
  • Come straight across to Engineering Building 3 (EB3)
  • Once inside, AEE-NC meeting will be in room 3122 of EB3 building
